Unlocking Your True Wealth: Step-Up Affirmations Explained

Written on

Understanding Your Personal Definition of Wealth

Before diving into affirmations aimed at attracting wealth, it is crucial to clarify what wealth signifies to you individually.

While searching for an image to accompany this content, I encountered the societal portrayal of wealth: individuals in high-end attire, sipping champagne, driving luxurious cars, and residing in grand mansions or yachts. However, that image does not resonate with my personal understanding of wealth.

For me, wealth is about wearing clothes that I genuinely enjoy, preferring a milkshake over champagne, and appreciating a comfortable vehicle that doesn’t necessarily conform to societal standards. I value a home that brings me joy, and while vacations by the beach are appealing, I don’t feel the need for a yacht.

Reflection Prompt: What changes would need to occur in your life for you to feel genuinely wealthy? I encourage you to jot down your thoughts.

It's important to remember that this concept is fluid. For instance, someone experiencing homelessness might feel wealthy simply by having a secure, cozy apartment and enough funds to cover their basic needs. As you reach certain levels of wealth, feel free to establish new goals for yourself.

Exploring Step-Up Affirmations

Many individuals express that traditional affirmations do not resonate with them and feel disingenuous. In such cases, I recommend exploring the concept of step-up affirmations.

Consider this scenario: you’re currently managing to cover your essential expenses, but there's little to no extra money for leisure activities or luxuries. If you were to declare, "I am rich. I am incredibly wealthy. I am a billionaire," it might come across as untrue, potentially reinforcing feelings of lack instead of abundance.

This is where the step-up affirmation approach comes into play. You might start with a more relatable affirmation such as, "Maybe it's possible for me to be wealthy."

Gradually, you can progress to "I am focusing my attention on building wealth" and then "I am increasing my wealth month by month." By adopting affirmations that feel believable and supportive, saying "I am wealthy" will begin to feel more authentic over time.

Integrating EFT Tapping with Affirmations

Consider combining your affirmations with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) tapping. This practice can aid in releasing resistance, making it easier for you to accept these affirmations as true and attainable.

Question for Reflection: Do you believe that step-up affirmations might be more effective for you?

Through extensive muscle testing, I've found that many individuals respond better to step-up affirmations than to what I refer to as "big leap" affirmations, like declaring oneself a billionaire. This insight is significant, as it suggests that you won’t inadvertently block your desires.
