Earning the Top Voice badge on LinkedIn may seem daunting, but it's actually simpler than you might think! Personally, achieving this badge is on my agenda for 2024. As the year draws to a close, I felt it was the perfect time to take action.

With just a few months remaining, I revisited my objectives, conducted some research, and spoke with individuals who have successfully acquired the badge. After reviewing multiple articles and gathering valuable insights, I decided to compile this guide to help streamline your research process.

Now, let's explore how you can earn this badge. First, it’s essential to comprehend the types of badges available on LinkedIn.

Essentially, there are two main badges: the Top Voice Badge and the Community Top Voice Badge. The Top Voice badge, represented by a blue icon, is awarded to industry leaders and experts who have dedicated months or even years to consistently sharing valuable content on specific topics, while engaging with their audience.

At this point, it's clear that we won't be focusing on the Top Voice Blue Badge in this discussion. Instead, our emphasis will be on the Community Top Voice Badge.

The Community Top Voice Badge is depicted by a light golden icon and highlights a specific skill. It appears as a Top_[Your Skill] badge, such as Top Software Development Voice Badge or Top Digital Publishing Voice Badge.

You can attain this badge by contributing valuable insights in collaborative articles. With consistent effort and strong opinions, you could earn this badge in as little as 10 to 15 days.

Now, you might be curious about the advantages of obtaining this badge.

Achieving the title of Top Voice in your area of expertise enhances your credibility, boosts your visibility, and strengthens your authority. This can be particularly beneficial during job searches or networking opportunities.

So, let’s delve into the steps to earn this badge.

1. When using LinkedIn on a desktop, look for the option labeled 'Contribute Expertise.'
2. Clicking this will direct you to a page where you can select a topic that intrigues you or aligns with your expertise.
3. It's crucial to refine your area of focus. If your chosen field seems saturated, consider narrowing your niche.
4. Upon selecting a topic, open the related article. You will see a layout similar to the image below.
5. Click on 'Start Contribution' to share your insights about the text displayed on the left panel.
6. Maintain consistency and uniqueness in your contributions. Aim to avoid relying on AI-generated content.

Note: Your contributions will be visible in your network’s feed, so ensure you share valuable insights that provide a fresh perspective. This will help you gain more engagement and stand out.

7. LinkedIn will monitor your progress as you consistently contribute, indicating how close you are to earning the badge.
8. Be aware that you won’t receive a notification upon earning the badge, so keep an eye on your profile when you reach the top 5% of contributors.

Once you’ve secured the badge, feel free to share your achievement with friends and colleagues, and don’t forget to post about it to enhance your visibility.

Note: This badge is valid for only 60 days, as LinkedIn reassesses badges periodically. If you cease contributing, you will lose the badge, so keep sharing valuable content to maintain this distinction.

You might wonder why I haven’t yet earned this badge if it’s so straightforward to obtain. The reason is that my profile isn't currently eligible for this feature, which is limited to a specific group of users. If you see the Contribute Expertise button on your profile, seize the opportunity and start contributing right away.
