Chapter 1: The Passionate Blogger's Journey
The Joy of Sharing Insights
After crafting over 150 articles on Medium in just under four months, I have faced numerous challenges along the way. I am excited to share the results of my blogging journey, which began hesitantly in mid-June. Beyond my periodic reviews every 50 articles and monthly reflections, I want to celebrate my progress and analyze how far I've come. I will outline my experiences through five key insights that truly reflect my blogging evolution. At the end of this chapter, a helpful quiz awaits you.
The allure of giving up
Writing is not as simple as some might suggest. Many believe that a few tricks or good habits can quickly build a loyal following, but they are mistaken. Establishing and maintaining an audience organically is a significant challenge. This is not a sprint; it’s a marathon that requires dedication and strategy. There have been several moments when the temptation to quit was strong—during the summer break around August 15, when I fell ill in September, and again in late September when my day job consumed my focus. Each time, I faced a noticeable drop in engagement that took considerable effort to regain.
Section 1.1: The Thrill of Development
The journey of growth is fascinating and often nonlinear. People often assume that growth follows a straight path, but this couldn't be further from the truth. One moment, you might feel elated by a surge in views, and the next, you could be grappling with an unexpected decline. After my first 50 articles, I experienced a significant boost after reaching 100, culminating in a surge of engagement after hitting 150. It's crucial during this stage to uphold the quality of your content and pour your passion into each post.
Subsection 1.1.1: The 80/20 Rule in Blogging
Approximately 40 of my articles have truly engaged readers—about 1 in every four. This shows that not every piece will meet the desired impact, and I plan to revisit and revamp those that fell short.
Section 1.2: The Importance of Adaptability
As you grow, it’s essential to adjust your strategies continually. Each time you make a significant leap, you come closer to your goals. The early stages are marked by rapid changes that require keen observation and swift action. Consider the rise of AI—it has quickly transitioned from a nascent trend to a transformative force in content creation. The future will favor those who can foresee and adapt to emerging trends.

No Shortcuts to Success
Being a blogger demands a significant commitment. I invest between 10 to 20 hours each week into blogging, all while managing a 40-hour workweek. Following a structured growth plan, I am preparing to create my first products. If you find value in my content, consider subscribing to my newsletter.
At the end of this article, I have prepared a quiz to help you assess the current stage of your blogging journey. By answering honestly, you'll receive insights into your development phase.
