Chapter 1: The Impact of Impatience
Recently, I've been grappling with self-doubt, and I've come to realize that my impatience is largely to blame.

Despite my efforts to write consistently and present my best work, I've found myself disheartened by the lack of tangible results. Typically, I dedicate between 1.5 to 2 hours to research and draft an article, followed by an additional 30 minutes to an hour for proofreading, editing, and publishing.
Despite my hard work, it’s discouraging to see that most of my Medium posts garner fewer than 20 views within a day, and my Substack subscriber count hardly budges—perhaps gaining one new subscriber every couple of weeks at most.
Under normal circumstances, I might accept these modest stats, understanding that growth on these platforms takes time, especially since it took me over two years to push my blog views past 5,000 monthly. But today, I find myself yearning for immediate growth, feeling frustrated that my numbers aren’t aligning with my expectations.
While staring at my statistics earlier, I wished for them to magically exceed my hopes. Yet, I know that such expectations are unrealistic—after all, I don’t possess any Jedi abilities… yet. This frustration leads me to question my own skills, making me doubt whether I’ll ever achieve my goals.
However, deep down, I recognize my abilities. I can write—perhaps not flawlessly, but I can certainly assemble coherent sentences into meaningful paragraphs. My impatience, though, sometimes makes me want to skip the necessary journey and arrive at my destination instantly, and this impatience breeds negativity within me.
The silver lining is that I've experienced this feeling before and have developed strategies to combat it. It’s crucial for me to acknowledge my strengths and express gratitude for my current situation. I must remind myself that while I can control the effort I invest, I cannot dictate the outcomes. The most effective way to improve my mood and enhance my chances of achieving my goals is to keep writing.
Consequently, this article is born from that realization.
I must admit, I feel significantly better after putting my thoughts down. Writing serves as a form of therapy, even if my statistics remain unimpressive for now—it’s a process, and I believe they will improve.
