Discovering Holiness: A Journey Toward Inner Peace and Wisdom

Chapter 1: The Quest for Understanding
For a long time, I felt deep down that everyone around me possessed knowledge that I lacked. This realization often left me with a sense of betrayal. It was as if everyone was invited to a celebration where they knew all the steps to the dance, while I was oblivious to the fact that people were even dancing.
I recognized that the stagnation I experienced in my life was unique to me, as if God had bestowed upon me a challenge that others had already overcome. It felt like there was a piece of wisdom I needed to attain on my own.
During gatherings, I would sit quietly, hoping to catch a glimpse of the insights that others shared. I yearned for guidance, waiting for someone to show me the path forward. Yet, this elusive wisdom seemed to vanish as quickly as a morning mist.
I faced mockery and subtle ridicule from those around me, as if the lessons I needed had somehow slipped away during my upbringing. Their mothers had imparted wisdom to them, ensuring they kept it to themselves. The only generational curse I seemed to carry was one of ignorance, and I felt burdened by it.
I often lamented silently while walking the streets, convinced that even the most troubled souls had a better grasp of life than I did. The words of Jesus felt lifeless on my tongue. They didn't cut through the darkness as I had hoped. I questioned whether I had committed an unforgivable sin, wondering if the Lord was too far removed from me.
These struggles were cyclical, pulling me back into doubt. I grappled with what it means to be human and the nature of the wisdom that seemed to elude me. In my search, I gradually realized that I was making progress toward the Lord, yet I often failed to acknowledge His presence in my life.
The suffering I endured felt meaningful at times, but I needed to embrace that it is finished. Being human is messy and requires abundant forgiveness. Daily, we are granted countless opportunities for redemption.
The root of my feelings of inadequacy stemmed from a lack of self-trust. I struggled to believe that God had instilled something within me—that He was indeed present in my being. This led me to constantly seek validation from others, finding fleeting connections in smiles or shared moments.
It’s a painful existence to neglect the inner journey towards God, leaving a void that feels insatiable. The relationship between oneself and God is meant to fill that emptiness.
What does it truly mean to "look within"? Common practices come to mind—meditation, stillness, journaling, reading scripture, and prayer. Each of these activities can help us connect with the divine.
Furthermore, having a clear vision and unwavering faith is crucial. A vision grounded in holiness unites our thoughts, words, and actions. This holy trinity—Father, Son, and Spirit—guides us in a singular direction.
As we pursue our visions, we must remember that God aligns our desires with His will. He created us and knows what is best for us. What I ultimately learned was that the journey toward our visions is an adventure worth taking, filled with continuous communion with the divine.
People who achieve their visions are often unconcerned with the state of their journeys. Whether they travel by slow means or rapid ones, what matters is their determination to move forward. Miracles don’t just happen; they find those who are actively engaged in their paths.
Many of us expect miraculous interventions as our birthright, but we must remember that the apostles acted—they preached, served, and wrote, and Jesus met them in their everyday lives.
Abraham serves as an outstanding example of this wisdom. He followed a singular voice, worshipped, and trusted completely. His relationship with God was profound; he recognized Him in three travelers, tithed through Melchizedek, and willingly made sacrifices.
This oneness with Yahweh purifies the soul and allows God's glory to manifest on earth. The wisdom of unity cannot be found in the flesh, which is often swayed by external factors. Instead, our spiritual pursuits should guide us toward true fulfillment.
As we strive for our goals, we must embrace the journey with a unified faith, trusting that our efforts will bear fruit. A partnership with God is essential, leaving the results of our labor at His feet, allowing His will to unfold in our lives.
While this notion may sound straightforward, the reality is often different. We may shatter into pieces as challenges arise, leading us to rely on grace.
So, instead of waiting for a divine sign to take action, consider moving toward the direction you believe God intends for you. Even if you must crawl, let His words wash over you.
Finding unity in your pursuit is the treasure that distinguishes those who thrive.
