# Did You Grow Today? Understanding Daily Progress

Chapter 1: The Importance of Daily Growth
Did you experience personal growth today? Many individuals struggle to determine if they made progress at the end of the day, which can be detrimental. If you wish to enhance your life, evaluating your growth on a daily basis is crucial. Daily improvements lead to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ultimately yearly advancements.
If you cannot monitor your daily growth, assessing your progress on a weekly or monthly basis becomes challenging.
Section 1.1: Tracking Daily Growth
There are numerous methods for tracking daily growth, such as keeping a journal of your accomplishments for the day. However, how effective are these strategies?

While jotting down daily achievements may seem like a logical approach to gauge growth, it often falls short. Everyone operates on different schedules; some individuals have more time than others. Those with limited time may feel inadequate if they only manage to complete one or two tasks. In contrast, those with ample time might mistakenly believe they are growing simply because they completed more tasks, even if actual growth didn't occur.
Some individuals may not accomplish all their intended tasks, yet they may experience significant internal growth. So how can you truly evaluate your growth for the day?
Section 1.2: Identifying True Growth
Did you tackle a challenging task today that aligns with your goals? If your answer is yes, then you experienced growth. If not, then you likely didn’t.
Engaging in difficult tasks serves as the true measure of growth, as it pushes you beyond your comfort zone. In those moments, you transition from your current self to the version of yourself you aspire to be.
Chapter 2: Embracing Resistance
Experiencing friction is a natural part of any journey. This discomfort indicates that you are progressing rather than remaining stagnant.
“The airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” —Henry Ford
When you are growing, you encounter resistance. Our bodies interpret this resistance as difficulty. Just as an airplane requires wind resistance to take off, you must also confront challenges to achieve growth.
The first video, "Are you going through it or are you GROWING through it? | Les Brown," discusses the importance of facing challenges to facilitate personal growth.
Section 2.1: The Conflict of Energy
“The mind is everything. What you think you become.” —Buddha
Mahatma Gandhi said it best: your habits shape your values, which in turn dictate your destiny. When you strive to alter your habits, it may feel as though your values are being challenged, leading to an internal conflict.
To evolve into the person you wish to be, it’s essential to change your values. Your current values directly influence your present circumstances. To initiate meaningful change, you must adopt the values aligned with your future self.
“We become what we repeatedly do.” —Sean Covey
Your habits define you, and where you direct your focus determines where your energy flows. Engaging in an activity consistently allows energy to build in that direction. The more you practice a task, the easier it becomes, as you are paving the way to form a new habit.
Conversely, if you focus on activities that are unproductive, such as binge-watching, you will encounter resistance when attempting to engage in more productive endeavors.
This highlights the necessity of breaking bad habits and cultivating good ones. If you consistently push yourself to tackle difficult tasks, you are more likely to continue that pattern the following day. However, if you indulge in laziness, that tendency will likely persist.
“Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.” —Jules Renard
Pushing your limits daily is the true essence of growth. It involves embracing discomfort and resistance. Whenever you engage in challenging activities or step outside your comfort zone, you can be confident that you have experienced growth that day. So, the question remains: did you grow today?
The second video, "After Seeing This You Might NOT Want to Grow Microgreens," explores the unexpected challenges of personal growth and the importance of persistence despite difficulties.
