In my assessment, Trump faced significant challenges throughout the debate. While some in Middle America may feel he emerged victorious, the clarity and strength of Harris's arguments were notable. She effectively articulated her stance on critical issues such as abortion, Ukraine, Israel-Palestine relations, and race.

Trump, on the other hand, displayed his typical disorganized style, failing to construct a compelling case either for himself or against Harris. Although he managed a few effective points, his overall delivery was scattered and unfocused.

His closing remarks were stronger, particularly regarding the economy, yet he offered no fresh insights. It appeared he was unprepared, lacking in thorough research. While he seemed to have a strategy, Harris's attacks disrupted his flow, leading him to respond aggressively but without substantial impact.

Trump was also drawn into discussions that did not benefit him, which Harris skillfully exploited, particularly on sensitive topics such as inflation and immigration.

Chapter 2: Key Moments of the Debate

Harris excelled in pivotal moments, notably when she pivoted from Trump's "soft on crime" narrative to highlighting his status as a convicted felon. Additionally, she shed light on her involvement in international diplomatic efforts regarding Ukraine, which showcased her experience. Her handling of the abortion topic was equally impressive.

Although Harris appeared slightly anxious at the beginning, this is not uncommon for lawyers and can often be perceived positively. In contrast, Trump exuded anger and contempt, which likely did not resonate well with undecided voters.

Harris aimed to sway those considering third-party candidates or abstaining from voting altogether—a crucial target audience for her campaign.

These debates seem to have lost their significance. While ABC provided some fact-checking, the overall experience felt diminished.

Ultimately, it’s clear that this debate has concluded.
